Choosing the right brass eyelet is very important for two reasons; it will prevent the eyelet from popping out of the guide housing and will also avoid breaking the guide housing.

The correct measurement of the eyelet required is determined by the diameter of the housing (hole) of the guide. To obtain this measurement, combine the diameter of the eyelet, the thickness of the wires of the lead wire and the thickness of the braid, the three combined items when fitted must be snug and offer resistance when attempting to remove it from the guide, so that the eyelet does not ‘pop-out’ of the guide whilst in use.
